one example in this modern day world on how religious beliefs makes cultural differences between the Mexican American and dominant society Mexicans

Solutions

Expert Solution

Mexican Americans and Dominant society Mexicans share a common bond in respect of cultural roots ,when it comes to  religion,Mexicans are more catholic or in other words they hold more traditional views than Mexican Americans. For e.g Let's consider the following

1.Priest marrying

2.ordaining women

Both the groups have different kind of opinion from their respective sides.Mexican Americans have a broad minded approach and they are of the opinion that priest should be allowed to marry and women should be allowed to become priest because they reflect the impact of acculturation. On the other side only a few percentage of people from Mexico support this kind of activities. At the same time those catholics who were born in Mexico and then migrated to U.S ,around half the population agrees with the Mexican Americans rather than going with the traditional beliefs which was kind of against priest marrying or ordaining women. This kind of attitude makes a cultural difference among them and their beliefs.Even if this is the case there are some areas in which they share common interest that is attending holy mass ,prohibits divorce and the use of artificial birth control.
