Societal, cultural, religious similarities and differences between the United States and Ireland
There is a very deep relationship between the United States and
Ireland. Millions of Irish immigrants migrated to the United States
several years ago, impacting the social, cultural and religious
life of both countries. We can see similarities between them in
many ways. If we look at the social life style, we can see the
similarities in the family life, employment, education, business
and foodhabits of both countries.
Cultural similarities can be examined between the two countries.
Both countries were under British control. The official language of
both countries is English. Both countries have a western culture.
Clothing style and musical enjoyment are one and the same. Smoking
is strictly the norm and the democratic system is the same
The main religion in these two countries is Christianity. There are
some other religions in both countries. Both countries allow
religious freedom.
Despite the similarities, we find some differences in the social
and religious life of the United States and Ireland. The people of
Ireland have a different traditional way of life. They enjoy a
variety of traditional music. The staple food is based on Potato.
They have a different Holy Day. It is a island nation. There are
many tourists out there. They have different Food Habits
We can see different cultural practices in Americans. They
specialize in high population, large country, different language
accent and more important to Sports. Religion is less important.
The sub-culture continues.
