Yes, i personally think that the laws in canada deter criminal behaviour.
This is because of the following reasons-
1- Canadian people, in general are having a huge and deeper respect for the Law as compared to many other countries, eve the developed ones.
2- The work procedures/ functioning is well in place and most of the facets of the Law implementation are computerised and online. Latest software assists Canada in deterring criminal behaviour.
3- The incarceration policies and the allied belief that incarceration deterrs crime is imbibed in the masses. This has indeed created a strong fear as well as dislike towards crime in Canada.
4- Number of police personell/ officers have been increased which helps to maintain law and order.
5- There's use of holistic approach wherein Law framework also focuses on enhancing economic upliftment of the masses which promotes contentment and eventually reduces/ deterrs criminal behaviour.
