Although modern healthcare system has become much better and efficient with the help of technology but certain socio-economic problem such as an ageing population, diseases, long term and chronic diseases, rising cost etc are creating many challenges on the health care system.

To provide quality health care some systematic changes and policies are needed. They are listed as follows-

1. The definition of quality of health care should keep into focus the patient experience, the effectiveness of a clinicians and the cost of treatment.
2. At patient’s level improving the access to healthcare decreasing the duration of consultations, continuity of care by same clinicians or health manager, better patient education, gathering continuous feedback from the patients and making the patient aware about general health risk is important.
3. At a practitioner level being trained in the improvement of quality, improvement in collaboration of clinicians, better use of technology and training on the technical tools, increase in the staffing levels, and having tools which are mobile and agile are important.
4. At a practice/system level improving hygiene, providing new and wide range of services under one roof, incorporation of electronic tools such as EHRs, EMR, use of historic patient data and reduction of costs are important.     

There should be a collaborative effort to use new technologies to improve health care and to decrease unnecessary healthcare cost.
