Consider the benefits of interpersonal relationships discussed in the scripture passage. Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12.

1. Identify two reasons why interpersonal relationships are hindered.?

2. Describe two actions you can take to improve your work relationships?

Solutions

Expert Solution

1. The two reasons why interpersonal relationships are hindered are:

Culture: This is a barrier to good interpersonal skills because people from different cultural backgrounds have different communication styles.

Gender: Corporate culture is usually male-dominated so this acts a barrier when two genders work together in a team.

2. The two actions I can take to improve my work relationships are:

Embrace the diversity: I will welcome people from different places and different cultural backgrounds. I will try to find something in common and use that to build a good working relationship. This will have a positive impact on the team as well as on the productivity. It will create a sense of trust because the other person knows that I respect his language and culture.

Appreciate good work: I will make sure that the good work is recognized and appreciated. I would do the same even for my competitors and I believe that it will create a strong bonding among the team members. People work hard to produce good results so deserve to be appreciated. I will follow this method to know the people around me well and also to create a good working relationship.
