write a informations about (Slenderness effects for concrete columns in sway frame _ moment magnification method)?
Note:i want many of informations about this.
Slenderness occurs usually in the columns that are axially loaded. Columns braced against side sway have effective length between 0.5L to L. L is the total length of the column. In the sway frame there is a deflection in the horizontal direction due to the horizontal force applied on the frame or the structure. The moment magnification method was a method that was being invented as a replacement for the reduction factor. The slenderness effects were accounted for by dividing the axial loads or the moments by the reduction factor and by this method the effect of the slenderness is reduced to a better extent and is usually considered very much at the tie of designing of the sway frames.
Now lets discuss about the effects of slenderness in these frames that will help you get some information about this and how to deal with these at the time of column designing.
