Create a ‘family system’ that is representative of the following characteristics: exogamy, matriarchal [i.e., authority], patriarchal residence, cohabitation, and blended. Underline the key parts of your example that are representative of the aforementioned characteristics! Your example should be ‘fluid’; that is, not in individual, separate parts… [i.e., tell the family story!]
You know the show called ‘Modern Family’, where a father marries a women, young enough to be his daughter. The patriarch of the family already has 2 adult children a son and a daughter both married. The oldest is daughter, married and have 3 children of her own and the Son is from LGBTQA community married and have adopted a daughter. The Father’s new wife already have a son from her previous marriage. But they all live happily and have certain mishaps of their own.

Both have children from their previous marriage, man has- college going son and high school going daughter and the wife has twin middle school going sons. They live together in the ancestral home. The house is run by wife’s mother because both man and wife are working. The man is an investment banker and the wife has a fashion boutique of her own. The son lives with his high school sweetheart in a shared apartment in another town for his college.
