Answer-Two types of ports are-
1.Dry Port
2.Sea Port
Dry Ports-A dry port is an inland terminal which is directly connected by the road and railways to a seaport. Dry ports are used for the transportation of commodities for the export purpose by cargo through the seaport. Dry ports are also used to import goods and services which are imported at seaports by the cargo ships.
Sea Port-Sea port is a terminal that is situated mainly in the cities with seas.Sea ports are used for the exports and imports of commodities through the sea routes by the use of cargo - ships.
What they do
Dry ports do the transportation of goods and services from one inland port to another inland ports within the country. Dry ports are also used for the storing of goods and commodities in their warehouses. Dry ports also connect the transportation of commodities with the seaports for export purposes or vice-versa.
Sea Ports do basically imports and exports of goods and commodities , which is received from the foreign countries through cargo ships.
Mandates of Dry Ports-Main mandates of dry ports are to support the international trade which takes place between the domestic markets and international market, dry ports also used to interstate transportation of commodities within the country's geographical boundaries.
Mandates of seaports-Main mandate of seaports are to connect the international market with the domestic market for import and export purposes.
Dry ports and seaports are different from the fishing ports because fishing ports are used for the fishing purposes whereas dry ports and seaports are used for the import-export as well as transportation of commodities.
