Sexuality is essential to the way one conceives oneself. It may depend on one's experiences and considerations that often fluctuate throughout his or her lifespan. It gets impacted by different biopsychosocial, economic, cultural, religious, and spiritual factors. The textbook states that with the passing time, the emotional, intellectual, and physical aspects of sexual desire and expression become fairly stable in both genders. The Western views have equalized aging with dying, so most of the people probably have a confined view of aged adults as sexually active individuals. Unfortunately, our healthcare providers are also not exempted from these stereotypical attitudes.
Regardless of sexual orientation, how are men and women similar and different in terms of their attitudes toward sex and love?
Describe Sternberg's Triangular theory of Love. Can you compare a relationship you have experienced to Sternberg's theory?

Describe the changes in sexuality from puberty through late adulthood. Describe how a person's definition and experience of sexuality and intimacy often fluctuates throughout his or her lifespan. What are some of the influences as it relates to "changes in sexuality from puberty to late adulthood"?
Sternberg's triangular theory of love is the theory explained by Sternberg in the form of a triangle. Sternberg theory is in regard to interpersonal relationships, which has three components of love:
1. Intimacy : Feeling of closeness and being connected and attached
2. Passion : The intense feeling when you like someone
3. Commitment : The choice to have a future together and stay together
The combination of this three components results in 6 different types of love- Infatuted Love, Empty Love, Romantic Love, Companionate Love, Fatuous Love, Consummate Love.
I can compare my relationship to Sterberg's Theory as Fatuos love, we were both passionate and Commited for my ex-partner but lacked the sense of intimacy with him, I didn't felt connected to him and got into relationship with him after only dating him for 2 weeks and finally ended up in separation.
The social cultural message adds a huge boost to the stereotypes for sexuality of aging population, it adds myth to the society that only the younger population are supposed to be sexually active and those older adults that are sexually active are undignified . These type of stereotypes lets the older citizen hide their sexual relations from the society or may be turn them inactive.
Yes, there have been changes in the sexual behavior of the aged population.
