Write a one hundred word paragraph about a time that you were made to feel shame by someone in authority. How did you respond?

I got my very first job in insurance sector with a reknowned private market player. I was posted in semi- urban parts of India. Being a fresher, and being with the very first opportunity for the job, i was very involved and strived to get the business done.

My focus was completely on the job and nothing else. We were all 12 people in our branch. The branch manager, our Boss was an ambitious person. But he had a major drawback. He was very addict of alcohol, a real drunkard.

During the annual prize distribution ceremony, the best performers in each of the branches were to be awarded/ rewarded. My Boss had drunk a lot and as he stood the second among the branch managers and as he missed the first rank, he failed to tolerate it and be patient.

He started shouting and using abusive and objectionable language. Myself being his collegue, i accompanied him till the exit door and attempted to calm him down.

But meanwhile, the Director, the General Manager and the Vice President arrived there and sowed their dissatisfaction, rather anger towards the Boss and the whole scene created in the ceremony.

I apologised everyone on his behalf and on behalf of the organisation. I indeed felt ashamed and left the venue.
