think about a time at your job when a specific major decision was made. Were you consulted prior to the decision being made? Were you glad you were included (or not)? If you had to choose between working at a job where every decision was made collaboratively or by the supervisor alone, which would you prefer and why?
From my point of view the company can be successful when they are considering the decision of all employees instead only top management taking the final call. I am working in a company where I have seen that everyone option is important and final decision is taken after that only.
I would like to take an example where I was included in plan and decision. I was glad that my management has taken my option in the consideration. There was a vendor to whom extra payment of USD 2 million but the vendor was getting ready to refund that amount. As we are dealing with that vendor on daily basis so we cannot cancel his contract. With mutual decision we have stopped his payment equal to the extra amount we paid to them. Than we had a discussion with higher authorities of the vendor and then they decided to refund the particular amount.
In this situation I have seen the lots of plans and measure that a manager can take in real business world. This experience which will give me benefit in future operations as well.
If I have to decide whether I just need to do my job or be a part of group who it taking big decision than defiantly I would like to be a part of that group because of following reasons:-
· To gain some more knowledge about the working of the business.
· To gain the experience for my own learning
· To motivate myself to take a big and quick decisions.
· To highlight myself within the organization
If a person need to grow him/her self in particular organization than he/she should try to part of a group. Who is collaborating the ideas and taking the final decision and implement that so that you can earn more experience and knowledge about the situation.
