If education is 'the great equalizer' and public education is rooted in inequality from a racial and class perspective, what is the solution?
One of the most important thing that could bring equality in the society is education because it can change the mind-set of the people by sowing the seeds of reasoning thus making them think. It’s education that made most of the white Americans realize that they were behaving in a barbaric and cruel way by treating people of other colours unequally. The problem today is the inequality in the public education sphere where people of other colour children face discrimination, elimination and access to quality maths and science lessons.
First and foremost, the slot in the schools should be allotted through a district wise data system where each race will get seat allocation depending on the proportion of their population in the area. If the seat is not claimed by a particular race, then it could be given to the next populous race in the chart.
Secondly, there should be a committee consisting of members from all the races should be appointed to make sure that this particular policy is followed strictly.
Thirdly, the school administration and staff should have equal proportion from all the races thus everyone can see things visibly.
Fourthly, a periodical data consisting of the progress and actions from the school on different children for various actions need to be made public.
Finally, public schools should teach their children about the racial equality and equal treatment of everyone on the basis of human race and not on the colour.
