Ovulation is the process of release of egg from ovary. In women this occur when ovarian follicle ruptures and release secondary oocytes ovarian cell .
The process of ovulation is controlled by the hypothalamus of brain and through the release of hormones secreted in anterior lobe of pituitary ygland , luteinizing hormone , and follicle stimulating hormone . The ovarian follicle will undergo series of transformations from the arrested development to mature oocyte just before ovulation. Ovulation occur when the most matired egg in the cohort is releases from ovary to abdominal cavity . The rising level of FSH in addition to stimulating the development of egg , prepare lining of uterus to be able to recieve fertilized egg . If no conception occurs lining and blood will shed in menstruation .
