Where in the body are the following muscle fiber types found:
Slow Oxidative (Type I)
Fast Oxidative (Type IIA)
Fast Glycolytic fibers (Type IIB)
Ans. Slow Oxidative (Type -1).:- These muscles fibres are used in the long distance activity like marathon. These muscle contracts relatively slowly. These muscles are found mainly in the skeletal muscles, RBCs etc. These muscle are found back and long bones cells. They are also present in soleus muscle and back muscles.
Fast Oxidative ( Type -2).:- They muscles contracts quicker. They also contain the high amount of oxygen, myoglobin and Mitochondria. They make large amount of ATP. There contraction force is more than the slow oxidative muscle fibre. These muscles fibres are used for the medium activities like running and swimming. The main energy source for these muscle is glycogen. Muscles that moves our eyes are made up of fast oxidative muscles fibres.
Fast Glycolytic fibre:- These muscle fibres has large or more diameter. They produces large contractile force. They breaks the ATP quickly and thus produces contactibility quickly. They are used as sprint events. These muscles are found in those muscle which undergoes anaerobic respiration.
