What are the three types of memory cells in the body? Where is each type located?
Memory cells are the cell of immune which make antibody in response to any pathogen. They have memory for specific pathogen like virus or bacteria so next time when they enter in body memory cell can make antibody at faster rate to kill them at early stage.
Human body has three type of memory cells-
1. T cell- This provide function of memory by its subset like tissue resident memory, regulatory memory, stem memory and central memory.
Location – T cell produced in the bone marrow and gets matured in the thymus where it multiplies and differentiates into helper T cells, regulatory T cells or become memory T cells.
2. B cells – It determine effective response against a second encounter with same pathogen in body. Apart from such type of immunity they plays role in maternal fetal tolerance and autoimmunity.
Location- They are also Produced in bone marrow. But instead of thymus they migrate to the spleen and other secondary lymphoid tissues where they mature and differentiate into immunologically competent B cells.
3. Natural killer cells- They have potentiality to responds to virus, resulting in generation of viral antigen specific memory cells.
Location- They mature at more than one place and then enters blood circulation. They differentiate and mature in the bone marrow, lymph nodes, spleen, and thymus.
