Employee engagement has become popular in HRM these days. Measuring it and determining whether a company’s employees are “engaged” are actually vendor services for which companies pay through the use of anonymous surveying tools. The science behind employee engagement is not yet perfected—there are many different ways that employers can help their employees get engaged!
1. Provide your definition of employee engagement. Support your definition using a citation from a website, or a scholarly article .
2. Give one example of how you have been engaged in a job in the past, and how your employer assisted you in being engaged.
3. Provide one example of a strategy that an HRM department could take to increase employee engagement. Explain, in your example, the type of company you are describing, the employees the strategy is designed to engage, and how you feel this strategy will increase engagement.

1. Employee engagement is defined as a very important aspect in today's world of doing business and the HR department of an organization actually looks after these issue with quite importance. Employee engagement is the process through which employees in an organization are kept satisfied by actually looking after their needs and demands and I feel that the HR department which actually acts as an employee advicate should be responsible in dealing with such issues. An engaged employee is the one who gives importance to the work that the person do and is happy to work for the organization.
2. I was working for a multinational organization and was posted in Milwaukee, after two years I was actually having issues because my hometown was New York and I wanted to move there and was looking for options in the city to move and as I addressed my concern to the HR they actually helped me getting a transfer to New York which I was not expecting because the organization had a strict transfer policy but they made the exception because they felt that my performance will be better if I work from close to my place and it actually helped.
3. A multinational organization which has a presence all over US should actually think of making some adjustments to their policy and employees' interest should be protected and given priority. I believe that the employees after training should be deployed to locations based in their preference because this actually makes the performance better. The organization actually has a unpredictable policy in which employee from Milwaukee are deployed in New York and the vice versa is also true which makes situation difficult for employee so it would be better if they can deploy employees based in their preferences that will help them make situation better for the employees and the organization.
