Two of the most significant challenges in the older adults that have psychological impact on the elderly individuals are difficulty in accepting the fact that they are physically not able to perform functions and abilities that they once used to do because their brain and body are not being supportive instead of them being willing to do these tasks. The second challenge is acceptance of the fact that they cannot achieve the same position as they used to to attain during the prime years of their life, this can vary from authoritative position in a company to the muscular body during their young ages. These challenges result in formation of psychological disorders or conditions like depression, anxiety and low self esteem. It is estimated that a big portion of the world population will fall under the category of older adults that is above the age of 60 by the year 2050 and we do not have adequate facilities to support the psychological and physical challenges that older adults face.
