In chapter 12 we discussed Stereotypes, Prejudice and Discrimination. We all have them, and acknowledging them is important, and often uncomfortable. For your final Reaction paper, I would like you to think about a specific stereotype or prejudice you hold. Discuss your stereotype or prejudice and reflect on it, explaining where it came from, what reinforcements you've received in regard to it and how it has affected your behavior.

The link is restricted hence I would answer based upon my own knowldge. I remember the stereotype that I had against some local language medium girls. My parents had sent me to english medium school, they worked hard and paid fees. I was very proud that I am learning in english medium school. We used to discuss in our school and think about how local language medium i.e. Marathi medium guys are, we thought them to be illmannered or not knowing how to speak and no having any confidence to speak. Such stereotype came from the just 6-7 bunch of marathi medium guys around me, I never went into detail about how the other students are. Hence earlier I received a negative reeinforcement, those bunch f guys never used to talk with me.

But later in college when chose Arts stream as compared to science or any other sode. I met a lot of marathi medium girls. And found them to be superior in in creativity. They were marvellous at reading skill, poerty, drawing, craft etc. As I did friendship with them and went in more detail, I got positive reeinfrocement. And started looking at the person more over to any medium factor. When I did this I made many friends and was able to know people better.

All the problems we have looked at in this chapter have assumed that all participants receive an equal share of what is being divided. Often, this does not occur in real life. For example, Grandma might specify in her will that John is to receive 50%, Sue is to receive 30%, and Margaret is to receive 20%. To make things more reasonable, lets look at a simpler example. Suppose Fred and Maria are going to divide a cake using the...
