based on the management of coronary vascular disorders discuss the following points in your own words.
differentiate between different type s of angina:
1. Stable angina
2. Unstable angina
3. Intractable or refractory angina
4. Variant angina
5. Silent ischemia
Coronary vascular disorders: are the disorders that caused by the accumulation of fatty deposits in the Coronary arteries that supply blood to the Myocardium.
Angina is a chest pain or shortness of breath occurring with lesser degrees of arterial blockage.
1. Stable Angina
It is a symptom of Coronary Artery Disease, and is charecterised by brief episodes of pain , pressure, squeezing and tightness in the chest. It occurs due to difficulty in the flow of fresh blood as there is blockage in the arteries supplying to heart. It occurs mainly during physical activity.
2. Unstable Angina: It is a condition in which the heart muscles are not getting adequate blood and oxygen resulting in pain and discomfort of the chest. Stable Angina occurs in moderate physical activity, whereas Unstable Angina can occur while resting and in mild physical activity. Stable Angina reduces while resting or with medications.
3. Intractable or Refractory Angina: It is a chronic ( 3 or more than 3 months) , incapacitating condition in which the patient may have recurrent and restricting angina ,despite of following the medication regimen correctly.
4. Variant angina : It is a chest pain due to the sudden constriction of a Coronary artery or the Coronary artery spasm , that results in the deprivation of blood and oxygen to the Myocardium . Variant Angina is also called as Prinzmetal Angina or Angina Inversa . Coronary spasm can occur due to stress , exposure to cold weather, medicines that narrow the blood vessels, smoking or cocaine abuse etc.
5. Silent Ischemia refers to the condition in which the patient is not able to notice any symptoms of ischemia, or the deprivation of blood and oxygen to the heart muscles due to the blockage of arteries that supplying the blood to the heart. Many people may have ischemic episodes , without knowing it or without an evident chest pain.
