Hospital is a public space where a large number of patients and healthcare interact continuously for treatment , surgery etc..Since most of the proportion of people in the hospital are presented with the hospital setting are infected and sick population, the maintaining of a hygiene environment is crucial in patient care and treatment.

Several methods can be adopted to maintain a hygiene healthy surrounding in the hospitals. Some of them are highlighted below:

a) Proper disinfection : Disinfection should be done frequently to kill the microbes that and disease spreading agents. Normally disinfection is done through agents like phenolics, peroxides etc.. The surgical settings are also given UV treatment for sterilization.

b) Personal safety measure : The healthcare team should be equipped with self safety measures also.Wearing gloves, caps,gloves, frequent sanitization along with avoiding the touch to highly infected areas and focussing more on the less prone areas should be adopted.The team should also educate the patients regarding the importance of personal and their contribution to hospital hygiene.

c) Proper disposal : Often the waste materials that comes out of a hospital are potential agents which can spread and cause various ailments.Therefore, all the contaminated items should be disposed in the most scientific manner possible to avoid possible ill effects.

d) Prevent chances of cross contamination : Minimize the shift of hospital materials from one department to the other.This will prevent the probability of hospital acquired ailments.

e) Workshops to the hospital staff, healthcare team and non-healthcare team which includes janitors should be given proper guidance into bringing about the best hygiene environment in the hospital.
