Potassium is one of the important electrolyte necessary for fluid balance .It is important for the appropriate functions of the cells and nerves. Any alterations in this can either cause the blood to retain potassium or eliminate it. Hyperkalemia and hypokalemia both are very dangerous and often very fatal of untreated on time.
