Who is the most powerful person in the U.S.? Discuss the difference of the power, role, and influence of the President compared to the Speaker of the House, the Senate Majority Leader and other positions of power in the U.S. today. What are the more important constraints or limits on the President's power? Should the President "represent" the American people or "lead" them?
The power of any person in government depends on the position and support by people as well as the constitution. In America, the president is a top leader who shares power with the speaker of the house and senate majority leader and other positions like Supreme Court and attorney general. As we know, America is a democratic country so that American president got their power from people of America, the definition of democracy defines the priority of citizen rather than institutions.
American president works as a leader of all institutions and their power comprise with various positions. We can categories presidential power according to the situation in internal point of view as well as external views. President has Veto power which reflects supremacy of position while Senate majority leader represents the power of Congress, the speaker of house use their power inside the house in public policies making and public interests. The power of Senate opposition leader cannot be equalized with presidential power and the position.
Other institutions like Supreme Court, army general and directors of various influencing institutions got their power by president and constitution.
In my opinion, the power share in the country depends on works and positions which defined by Constitution of the country. The supremacy of president depends on people of America and its constitution, so we cannot perfectly categorize the power share, every position has their own work and powers which help to balance power share.
The American president is a true representing person of American people in the world while other positions represent specific powers.
