Anxiety is characterised by fear, nervousness and worry. It’s one of the most critical psychological illness one carries with one and most of the time it’s caused by exaggeration. This affects one’s regular functioning in one’s life at various levels. It spoils one’s chance for advancement by preventing them from acting boldly and facing the reality. The following are few things that are caused by anxiety at a higher level.
Feeling threatened – People feel threatened when their anxiety crosses a threshold level. They are afraid of things, people, places and events. This results in avoiding those elements that threaten one.
Physically uncomforting – When one is in a threatening situation, one lives in constant fear. This causes lots of discomfort at a physical level such as body pain. Indigestion, headache, lack of sleep etc.
Irregular function – Both the physical and psychological impacts will cause problem in functioning regularly in the family, society and at work.
Avoiding people, places and events – When people get to the high level of anxiety, they will avoid people, events and places thus missing out on almost all the important aspects for growth.
