Expert Solution

Sociality is the tendency of groups and persons in the society, to associate develop social connections, and live in communities. We can consider sociality as a survival requisite. Communal sharing, authority ranking, equality matching, and market pricing are the four elementary forms of sociality.

1. communal Sharing

In society, people form groups based on their relationships and the feeling of identical. or unity. They will have the same belief and share a common thought based on culture, interests, religion, ethnicity, nationality or race, etc. Everyone in the community will share a common thought. In communal sharing people treat all members of a category as equivalent. The group members will share and exchange their, views, ideas, and knowledge for the sake of the community interest than their personal interest. Group identification, community interest, helping each other, etc are the features of communal sharing.

2. Authority Ranking

In most society, we can there be some hierarchy relationships at it will be an asymmetrical order. People of these circumstances will be having a direct or indirect understanding of their hierarchy relationship. and attend to their positions in a hierarchical order. People in higher status will expect authority, respect, and status from lower hierarchy people. The major elements in authority ranking are Demand, obey, power, authority, control, etc.

Eg in the Military, or IT company

3. Equality matching

There must be a balance between the members or groups within society. Any imbalance due to the attitude or behavior of a person can disrupt this equilibrium in the relationships. It is maintaining a balance in our dealings with others.and always people ere keen on tracking these imbalances in society,. The basic motivation for equality matching is the desire among human beings for equality.based on reciprocal exchange of behavior

4. Market Pricing

Like every sales transaction having a basis of currency value, relationships are also based on some clear values set by people in their mind .on the basis of rating the interactions with others. People tend to rate the values in others.accoding to their personality.

These four forms can exit independently or in combination according to the changes in situations at the time of social interactions.

Example

if we consider the employees of an organization, may it be a bank and it will have many branches in the society.

.Communal sharing

. There will be different groups of employees. The employees of the same designations will feel a communal sharing among them and form a group.it can be an employee's union. and they unite to make decisions and discuss their common problems in the institution. The managing staff of various branches may for a group of themselves. Sometimes there may be a group of three or four adjacent branch employees for social services based on their common interest in social activities.

Authority sharing

In each branch, there will be an authority ranking based on the designation of the employees. Each employee of the middle rank will rank the other staff of the same categories as peers of similar rank, managing staff as people of higher rank, sub staffs ( employees engaged in cleaning, etc ) as low-rank staff. and there will be evident differentiation among their interactions.

Equality matching

The manager of the bank branch must treat all the employees equally or in a generally fair manner and avoid providing too many favors to some of the staff. Another case is if one of the staff is parking his vehicle in such a way preventing others from parking in their slots will be seriously viewed by other staffs because it is against equality matching, Complementing each other in their success, acknowledging others, accepting others views and suggestions will boost the equality matching and contribute to the success of the organization.

Market pricing

If one of the staff is interacting with his/her peers always emotionally, having low emotional quotient, every other staff will rate it in their mind and it will negatively affect their future interactions.

Another Example

Among residents residing in a flat.

There will be communal sharing on the basis of their feeling that they all are residing at the same place.and will form Association to share their views, discuss future developments of amenities, and to solve each resident's problems.

There will be Authority ranking. among the inmates, eg:- the doctors may form groups and they may consider some other people as of low-rank people .and this can lead to conflicts.

Market pricing

The secretary of the association is very pleasing and has good patience to deal with all the problems of the inmates, and his positive behavior is valued by the inmates, helps a lot for avoiding conflicts in the flat. All inmates like him and often unanimously accept his suggestions.

Equality matching

One of the residents says, Mr. Roy, keep a lot of indoor plants on the common passage, it is against equality matching, are seriously viewed by the other inmates. So the secretary approached him and explained about the difficulties others are facing, because the secretary always treats all inmates as equal, will not favor one particular person a lot.

Although the four forms have its importance in our life and are the basic foundations of social interaction, the most we recognize and practice in our lives are Equality matching and community sharing.
