Solutions

Expert Solution

The basic underlying assumptions are the ones that helps determine attitudes, thought process and actions of the corporate organization on one hand and on the other hand the national culture. They are unconscious thoughts, beliefs, perceptions, and feelings.

As far as corporate setting is concerned, the basic underlying assumption are considered governing organizational culture besides being values and aspects of the workplace that provide a sense of security. It sets the tone and very purpose of a driving force that helps each professional to make each day count.

Two examples:

The Google office put out a fundamental basic underlying assumption from its corporate culture it cherishes. It states - "Great are not good enough. Goals are meant to be achieved by stretching to meet them beyond expectation and could be achieved by innovation and iteration. "

The Deloitte office put out a fundamental basic underlying assumption from its corporate culture it cherishes. It states -"The key to success lies in "Disrupt, Create and Innovate" tendencies that can only be achieved with sheer determination and team co-operation"

Such assumptions inspire professionals to inculcate required behavioral traits & outlook to achieve better future for their company & for themselves.

In national culture , the basic underlying assumption examples are:

1) Unity in diversity

2) The identification of a great nation lies in preserving great cultural heritage

Such assumption helps the citizens to put their best foot forward, care for their fellow citizens, care for the resource and innovations and become the driving force behind all national success. Citizens remain connected to their cultural heritage and continue to get inspired and inspire others and young generations to imbibe values for life and thought process thereby developing a sense of commitment of the service to the nationhood.
