Answer: the group formation may be regarded in the form of spirals, whereas, some groups are formed through sudden movements followed by periods in which there would be no changes. Every group would be going through six stages of development, which would be identified as follows:

  • Forming: in which the tasks would be shared along with sharing of experiences
  • Storming: in order to identify if the group has any conflict or if the leader would be having their authority challenged.
  • Norming is the process in which a person would be agreeing to the different working methods, along with identifying the common goal.
  • Performing is the process in which people would be taking on tasks and there would be functional roles such as to achieve tasks.
  • Adjourning and retiring in which the manner in which the group disintegrates in considered.
  • Mourning or grieving is the phase in which it is checked if. Aperson Has experienced stages of mourning after the group has distingreted.

People join groups for a number of reasons. One of the major reasons is to have a feeling of satisfaction and a sense of belonging. Also, groups tend to achieve more when working together.
