If data set required histogram and stem - leaves will be clearly mentioned in the text , because the procedure of making these two, calculations and analysis will be different. But line graph is the is commonly used to display change over time as a series of data points connected by straight line segments on two axes. The line graph therefore helps to determine the relationship between two sets of values, with one data set always being dependent on the other set..
Example - Line graph:
A line graph has the advantage of showing changes over time. so we can decide based on the data set whether we can choose line graph or bar graph or scatterplot.
For example 3 students subject wise what they scored and how that has been compared in the line graph.
The another advantage of linegraph is rightclick any line within the graph and add trendline. with that trend line you can choose least square linear regression formula and R-squared value also for the data set.
Histogram:
A histogram is an accurate representation of the distribution of numerical data. It is an estimate of the probability distribution of a continuous variable
we have to prepare bin value to calculate how many time of frequency occurance in the given data set.
once you prepared bin range , go to excel data tab --> choose data analytics and --> choose histogram and prepare the chart.
For example:
Steam and leaves:
A Stem and Leaf Plot is a special table where each data value is split into a "stem" (the first digit or digits) and a "leaf" (usually the last digit)
For example:
