What forms of social media and why? What is your personal view on media, is it a necessary and useful tool for society or a distraction from life via social media and advertising, or a bit of both?

My relationship with media is the close one I use to follow media very closely day in and day out. For news I only prefer to watch a few mainstream news broadcasters because of their unbiased reporting. Most of the mainstream media in our country are paid ridden gy the current dispensation. For research purpose I search for reliable websites which come up with lots of reliable informative content. I am not an active member of social media. I just hate using these platform as fake news and provocative content are getting uploaded in huge numbers. But I just use Twitter. I find twitter very informative and reliable as only influencial people can obtain blue tick there. Rapid and first hand information come on twitter. If social media is used for well being and with honesty than its a good thing to have. But the kind of use we see today I don't think we have any positive outcome, rather it deviates us from the essence of human beings. These are becoming the platforms for spreading lies and hatred. There is no doubt that it reaches to us with a lot information. But honest use is needed from the part of the users otherwise it's of no use just the deviation from real life.
