In the story there is a real experience of Novogratz's journey. As a social entrepreneur she wants the African women to be more active in the field of work. It is shown that the Rwandan women are shy and in spite of their quality and eligibility they do not come to work outside. The emphasis is given on the development of the women with the help of bank. Through micro financing the bank will be able to help the women to be independent and it will help them to earn livelihood. She created Acumen Fund to help the poor people to start their own business, especially the women. Many social entrepreneurs were encouraged to work with the help od the fund.
Novogratz finds how the financial support to the poor people is under corruption. The government officials are involved in corruption. They take away the money and no development takes place there. It is the main cause of failure of the development of the poor people.
She again shows how the poor African Rwandan people suffer from poverty and injustice sue to the civil war. There were many persons who also took the same steps to facilitate the poor. But the effort was partly successful and partly failure.
