What are the categories that organisms can be grouped in based on their nutritional requirements. Find one microorganism, either a prokaryote or eukaryote, and describe the environment in which it lives. (Does it live underwater? On skin? In soil? Give as many details as possible!) What are nutritional needs and environmental requirements. (Is it a halophile? A chemoheterotroph?

Question

According to the nutritional requirements, organisms could be divided on 4 types. These different group of organism are:

I. Photoautotrophs: these organism use sunlight to synthesize their food. These organism have ability to fix carbon-dioxide into glucose. For example, plants.

II. Chemotrophs: these organism obtain energy by oxidation of electron donor in the environment. For example, sulfur-oxidizing bacteria .

III. Heterotrophs: these organism obtain food from other organism as they cannnot manufacture their own food. Example, human.

IV. Detritivores: are the group of organism based on dead and decaying material. Example include some fungus.

I am selecting the one prokaryotic organism. This organism name is "Halobacterium salinarum". This is a archea that found in the marine water bodies and are obligate aerobes. Yes, this organism live underwater.  This organism is found in the salterns,  hypersaline lakes. This archea is a halophile because it can live in the highly salty environment. This organism are single-cell and rod shape. They are one of the ancient organism that found on Earth. They have S-layer made up of glycoprotein. These archea are chemotrophs because they use amino -acid as the main source of chemical energy. Mainly they require arginine and aspartate amino -acid as the source of chemical energy. They live in salty environment .
