Should socially or culturally diverse clients mistrust the current mental health system? Why or why not?
Mental Health is perceived differently by different people from different social or cultural diverse clients.Whether they should trust the current mental health or mistrust will entirely depend on their belief system,Cultural settings as well as their past experience they have heard of the mental health.For example,In the Western Culture and Countries like America,USA where individuals are resonsible for whatever they are doing,they seem to be open-minded and is free to consult a psychologist in case if they are having mental health problems.Those people are not ashamed of consulting a psychologist and they treat menta illness normal as physical illness,But In the Asian Countries like India the emphasis is on collectivism and where people are dependent on one another and they have the stigma related to mantal health that if someone consult a psychologist he or she is mad.That person as a result got inhibited from the society.However this trend is changing slightly and people are becoming more aware of the mental illness and are talking about it.Thus,the development of trust in the mental health will entirely depend upon the thinking and the culture from where the person belongs and a person can trust the system only if it is relaible,authentic as well as valid .Moreover having the cause and effect relationship for the enhancement of critical thinking.
