As a HR Consultant you are asked to recommend what you believe to be the 'key elements' of an ethical code of practice and managerial governance system appropriate for an international organization. Your recommendations should address the issues that ethical decision making throughout the organization is kept in line with the stakeholder's values. Discuss what you would include and why? [5 Marks]
Ethical values are all about conducting business and services in an honest and true manner. The conduct should be without bias, prejudice and should be fair in all respects.
The ethical code of practice and managerial governance system for an international organization or domestic one cannot be any different. Ethical way of conduct is of universal value and applicable everywhere.
The key elements of an ethical code of practice is to implement what is committed, declared or promised. In respect to employees it would mean honoring all the contractual obligations, providing amenities and facilities as promised and conducting performance evaluation in a fair and unbiased manner.
Ethical values considering stakeholders that includes customers, is to ensure product content is as declared on the label, product promotion is not misleading and there are no hidden aspects in consumer contracts for services.
