What makes group communication and organizational communication different? Discuss with relevant examples.
In group communication, the verbal or the non verbal message, ideas and plans are shared among the members of a group in an environment or an organisation where several different groups may exists. These ideas are not known by the other groups. With the help of group communication many decisions can be made with the help of the group members to achive a goal. We can give example of a cricket team for group communication. The specific team has specific plans and strategies to win the games which will not be shared with the opposite cricket team.
Where as in organizational communication in the flow of ideas and messages is within an organizations among individuals and groups through which the common objectives can be achieved. This type of communication is needed for the engagment of the individuals of an organization. This communication can be done by different media. We can explain the organizational communication by taking an example of flow of command in organizational hierarchy where the flow of command is from higher level to lower managments groups via middle management.
