Glycolysis is a process by which one molecule of glucose is broken down to form two molecules of pyruvate. Glycolysis takes place in the cytosol. It is an oxygen-independent process.
Glycolysis is broken down into two phase- preparatory phase and pay off phase. At the end of glycolysis 2 molecules of ATP, 2NADH and 2 pyruvates.
