There are five stages of negotiation process ,they are:
- Prepare
- Exchange
- Bargain
- Conclude
- Execute
- Prepare : At this stage of negotiation process
the values and subjects of interests are identified , sorted out
and prepared for negotiation after researching and analysis. The
goals of negotiation is set and the possible manners of negotiation
are determined.
- Exchange: This phase includes the process of
rapport building and trust between the negotiating parties.
Discovering of the interests of the other parties is done in this
phase. A joint agenda formed at this stage of negotiation yields
better results.
- Bargain: At this stage values for negotiation
are distributed , interests of the parties are discussed and
addressed, and concessions are made and managed.
- Conclude: This is the stage of agreement.The
agreement is summarized and written on which both the parties agree
The terms and conditions of negotiation are met with mutual
consent.
- Execute: Implementation of the negotiated
agreement is done at this stage,a healthy relationship is
maintained between the parties if future negotiations are
needed.
