REFER TO CANADIAN SOLAR CASE ... its too long to post, I dont know how to attach it.
a) Should Canadian Solar try to be global? Please justify your answer.
b) What global strategy would you recommend that Canadian Solar pursue? Please justify your answer.
1) Yes, It must be try to be global. It is because of the fact that Global customers now understand the importance of clean energy and hence they looking to purchase best quality solar panels, equipments, tools, machines etc. Canadian solar can achieve greater market share, new opportunity to earn the profit and scale up its production and manufacturing facilities. It should improve its internal business perspective to fulfil the demand of global customer at the time when many of the countries are facing challenges of smog, and polluted environment.
2) I will suggest it to adopt the Multinational strategy. It can serve the local demand by understanding their needs, aspirations and purchasing power. For example: It must produce low cost solar panels for Indian, Chinese and Bangladesh's Consumer market. It might offer highly sophisticated product to Russian market where low sun rays might captured. It should try to tap the local opportunities by setting control to head office of its solar company.
