Please give me the Four Functions of Management and what they means, which one is important and why. I need something that isn't on the chegg site. ASAP! Please
The four functions of management are:
1. PLANNING
We can say that planning is based on the goals and requirements of the organization, their mission, vision and on the structure and function it needs to perform. It includes planning processes such as strategic planning human resource planning etc.
2. ORGANIZING
We can say that organizing can be considered as being one of the most important function. There is a need to create the required decisions based on the direction in order to minimize any barriers that would be faced. In the easiest sense, we can consider organizing as delegating authority, as well as providing the required direction to the different employees, teams, and departments to achieve the goals set in the planning process.
3. LEADING
We can say that leading is much more than simply managing the processes of the organization, rather, it can be considered as a combination of different aspects such as communication, motivation, inspiration, and encouragement to the team in order to produce the best possible throughput given the skills and the capacity as well as increase in the factor of productivity and growth.
CONTROLLING
We can say that controlling is another important aspect of a management process. There is a need for the manager to come up with better processes constantly in order to deal with the competition in the market and the industry. Therefore, in order to evaluate the processes, the manager needs to be able to monitor the results. It also requires processes such as creating the required performance standards and the frameworks over which the functionality depends.
Out of all the factors, I believe planning to be the most important. Not only is it the first process in every aspect. The direction and success of all the other processes depend on it. Without a proper plan, a management can end up with the improper result, wastage or even disruption of the core processes. Therefore, planning becomes one of the most important processes as a factor of management.
