.In networking 5g stands for fifth generation wireless technology. Wireless in network topology means there is no physical connection between sending end and receiving end of the communication system. The entire transfer of data takes place through microwaves or radio waves. Let's have a look on the history.
Bluetooth WS the first wireless technology whichbcame into existence late
Systems the convey information between two or more locations such as satellite broadcast communication comes under this category.
Wireless systems use different modes if electromagnetic energy for the transmission of data or information between the systems. For example. Mobile phones uses microwaves for the transmission of data but with the drawback that microwaves travel in straight lines, if any object obstruct the line of sight then we loose our communication.
A TV remote system uses wireless communication through inra red waves. Now let's see what actually happens in a wireless system. The schematic is shown below -
These systems minimum contains one transmitting antenna and one receiving antenna. An antenna can be imagined of as any device that converts a guided signal, such as a signal in an electrical circuit or transmission line, into an unguided signal propagating in space.
1G was analog cellular technology of networking 2G technologies, such as CDMA, GSM, and TDMA, were the very first generation of digital cellular networking technology. 3G technologies, such as EVDO, HSPA, and UMTS, with improved speeds from 200kbps to a few megabits per second. 4G technologies, such as WiMAX and LTE, the next giant improved speed technology with megabits and even gigabit-level speeds.
5G brings three new aspects to the competition-:
Greater speed
Lower latency which improves the responsiveness
and the ability to integrate a lot more devices at once
Like other cellular networks, 5G networks use a system of cell sites that divide their territory into sectors and send encoded data through radio waves. Each cell site must be connected to a network backbone, can be a wired or wireless 5G networks will use a type of encoding called OFDM, which is similar to the encoding that 4G LTE uses. The air interface will be designed for much lower latency and greater flexibility than LTE.
5g will work all the way from low frequencies to high, but it gets the most benefit over 4G at higher frequencies. 5G can also transmit data over the unlicensed frequencies currently used for Wi-Fi, without conflicting with existing Wi-Fi networks. That's similar to a technology called LAA .The aim is to have far higher speeds available, and far higher capacity per sector, at far lower latency than 4G.
2.The basic block diagram of the generation of wireless communication system is shobroadband as shown ing fig. Below
Vision of 5g
1.A super efficient network which transmits data effeieicently at lower cost
2. High speed of response due to integration of properties of all the properties of 3g volte GPRS
Lets see the hardware requirement and software implementatin of a 5g networking system.
Hardware requirement- -
The 5g technology uses the following hardware as follows-
1.ultra wide band (UWB) networks with higher bandwidth anlower energy levels
2.4000 mbps bandwidth which has a speed of 400 times more than present networks
3. Smart antennas
4.uses code division multiple access(CDMA)
Now let's look at the softwarerequirements-
-
5g as unified combination of various networking advantages from 3g Alan volte GPRS broadband. It uses milimiter waveband for the transmission of data or information which lies in the range of 20-60Ghz
Lets summarize some of its key features-
1.5g provides high resolution for virtual gadgest and bi directional large bandwidth shaping
2.Supports virtual private networks.
3. It offers enhanced connectivity around the world
4.Provides large broadcasting data in the range of gigabytes.
5.The high quality of 5g technology reduces error.
The following are the key concepts behind the development of 5g networks-
1.It provides real wireless world with no limitation with the number of access and zone
2.The internet protocol version used is ipv6
3.It uses a cognitive radio technology so called smart radio
4.High altitude stratosphere platform station systems HAPS. Keeping in view about the system the 5g networks daces few drawbacks also which are as follows-
5G technology is researched and conceptualized to solve all radio signal issues and challenges of mobile world, but because of some security reason and lack of technological advancement , it has following shortcomings
1.Technology is still under process and research on its viability is going on.
2.The speed, this technology is claiming seems difficult to achieve because of the incompetent technological support in most parts of the world.
3.Many of the old devices would not be competent to 5G, hence, all of them need to be replaced with new one — which is a expensive deal.
4.Developing infrastructure needs high cost.
5.Security and privacy issue yet to be solved.
5g network systems has revolutionalised wireless network systems. It promotes super core ie all the network operAtIons will be connected on one single core with high single infrastructure. It brings evolution of active infra sharing and managed services
