5G is the latest wireless technology and it is said to revolutionize the way we will be connected. The debate which has arisen is that it will require a lot of energy generation – with pollution levels rising how can this technology be justified using a Utilitarian Act approach?
5G stands for fifth generation of Fifth Generation of telecommunication technology. It is the technology which is the replacement of 4G but is still not applied in all the countries. It is designed to increase speed, improve flexibility of wireless services and reduce latency. But as everything has two aspects, that is good or bad, 5G technology too has two faces and the debate has arisen that it will require a lot of energy generation - with pollution levels rising and climate change effects.
Here now we are going to justify the 5G technology using Utilitarian Act Approach.
According to Utilitarian Act Approach - "The person's act is morally right if and only if it produces the best results in that specific situation". 5G technology is justified according to Utilitarian Act Approach as it provides a huge number of benefits to millions of peoples. It promises lower latency which will improve the performance of business applications as well as other digital experiences for a number of people. It will allow greater speed in transmission, lower latency and greater number of connected devices for implementing virtual networks. Apart from that, it will provide huge broadcasting data supporting more than 60,000 connections. It will also allow fast and accurate remote health monitoring and remote robotic surgery.
And all these benefits will be provided equally to millions of people around the world which proves that 5G technology is justified using a Utilitarian Act approach.
