I would like to be a civil engineering designer
What are the fundamental subjects taught in civil drafting. please what should I study first, second, third........till professional civil designer.

Answer; First of all there is a structural enginer who design the elements of structure by analysisng them.Design is specifically assigning the material and the dimensions with reinforcements etc to the structural members.

First of all you have to be good at mathematics and physics to be a good designer and sense of forces to get balance(stability).You have be very good in analysing the structural members for that the following subjects are very important Strength of Material,Structural Analysis(Matrix methods,Dynamics,Finite element method) and mathematics with good command in Physics.You ahve to give very much time in matlab coding and softwares of analysis wth good modelling techniques.

After that the desgn aspect which primarly involves the material like concrete steel tmer etc whch you have to aquire a good knowledge.(Mix Design admxture etc )

Then comes the second aspect of desgn that involves the analysis n doing for which you have to study many courses of Renforced concete design and steel structure design which you have to good at. There are many software whch involves the designng of structures and you have to give plenty of tme understanding that.

This also essential for a good designer to have a good knowledge of dynamics of structure which nvolves the earthquake.The behaviour of the stucture has to be studied under earthquake and analysis has to be done.

In analyss particularly you have to study the finite elemnt method also.

So these are the essential for a good civil engineering designer or a structural engineer.
