What is the difference between architecture and civil engineering?
Ans:- Both civil engineering and architectural concepts are vital in the construction project. The duties of civil engineer and the architect vary a lot in the construction project. The architecture is only concerned with the building construction whereas the cvil engineering has a number of sub-disciplines like structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, water resource engineering, environmental engineering and other inter disciplinary branches.
Architecture mainly deals with the spatial functionality, look and aesthetics of the building whereas civil engineering is focused on structural design of building elements so as to make safe, stable and servicible structure.
The floor plans of the building the shape design of the building are encountered in architecture. The material used for constructing the building ad their design is encountered in civil engineering.
So we can say to make a safe and stable structure against the predictable or unpredictable loads and to provide the supervision is the work under civil engineering branch and utilizing the building area to give desirable functions and to provide lighting ventilation to the building is the work under architecture. Therefore it is clear that the architecture is the art and civil engineering is like a physics.
