Do you have any experience in your own classrooms using creative arts to assess students in ELA? For instance, students may draw pictures of their favorite character in a book?

ELA is focused on improving the language learning through reading ,writing , speaking skills and critical thinking skills in students . ELA provides students a deep knowledge and understanding of the English language . I have used creative arts technique in English language learning . For example, once I told the students to create masks and paper figures . I write the english words which are used in the process o n the board such as colour , cut , draw , join, paste . I also wrote some adjectives on the board such as old , blavl , red , yellow . In the process I used my hand gestures to explain them the words and the process. I told them to incorporate all the words written on the board during the art making process . This helps in stimulating the english learning process as student learn words and use them . This also helps them to visualize words which is more effective than verbal memory as our visual memory is more strong .
