Following is the required paragraph, along with an example,
explaining what creative curriculum is. You are free to make your
modifications per your specific requirements.
- A creative curriculum is what is designed to
encourage independent learning inside the
classroom. While it does not disregard teacher-directed learning,
it balances such guided instruction with a scope for
innovation by children. The best teaching-learning
practices are combined with the non-traditional
activities that offer the scope of
exploration. The teaching pedagogy is oriented towards the
particular learning styles of children. The
activities are oriented towards strengthening and building
up on their specific interests. Thus, a creative
curriculum is challenging, yet within the learner’s capability,
thus making them feel safe, cared for, and emotionally healthy. The
focus is on the overall development from social,
emotional, cognitive and physical perspectives.
- An example of a creative curriculum is that
designed for a young kid who needs to be taught organization and
reasoning. It may include giving him/her open activities like
making blocks or doing art and craft. It’s not theoretical teaching
that makes the kid bored. A creative curriculum encourages active
thinking and experimentation by the learner.
