What do you think makes a good peer review Do you have any prior experience with the peer review process? What do you hope to get out of the capstone project peer review experience?

Peer review is at the heart of the scietific method.Its philosophy is based on the idea that one's research must survive the srutiny of experts before it is presented to the larger scientific community as worthy of serious consideration.Reviewers are experts in a particular topic or field.They have the requisiste experience and knowledge to evaluate whether a study method are appropriate or not,results must be accurate,the authors interpretation of the results are reasonable.Some important practices that makes a good peer review are

• Expertise:ask yourself honestly whether this paper falls within the scope of the expertise.
• Timeliness is very much important,you should make an effort to return a review within the specified deadline.
• Peer review is at the haert of the scientific process,and in order for the process to work the review must be rigorous.
• Absolutely do not review a manuscript if you have a strong feeling about any of the authors.Avoid biasness.
• Dont hesitate to read the outside sources on how to conduct an experiment or how other labs use them.
• Keep in mind that you have every right tgo ask the authors do a different experiment ,or to modify the way they carry out an existing one.
