The criminal justice field was very slow to adopt and adapt to the use of research and data to solve issues. Why do you think this was the case? What ways can researchers and law enforcement professionals work better to use science to their advantage in reducing crime?
Criminal justice is the institution and practices of government to control crimes, penalties to those who violate laws and sanctioning those repeat-o sets. Criminal justice systems are vary country to country. The countries which are less developed has no justice system is in use, so they use their military power to rule their laws.
It has three main parts:-
1. Law enforcement- includes police officers, FBI, ect.
2. Courts :- includes attorneys, judges,etc.
3. Corrections :- includes jail's, prisons.
There are many reasons why criminal justice field was very slow to adopt and adapt to the use of technology to issues. Some reasons are:
Lack of knowledge and technology. Most of the countries are at developing phase, they have issues of trusting on technologies, so they follow their system to solve the issues which sometimes leads to increase on crime rate. But that diedoes mean no one is using technology to reduce crimes. Many countries start using and deveoping such technologies which help in reducing the crime.
There are many ways which can use by cops to reduce crime rate. These days we hear a lot about technology crime like viruses, data hacking and more. It is hard to trust on technology but as technology are using in crime, so why not it can also be used to stop crimes and even we can prevent it from happening a crime.
Some ways are:-
1. Mapping:- it uses real time information so it helps to locate where crime are happening. Even they can identify patterns of activity which helps in investigation.
2. Smartphone apps:- today we all are living in 21st century, there are thousands of apps were introducing every year. In ehich some of apps are useful to prevent crime. Also smartphones help to take photos of nearby crimes so that it can use in investigation.
3. Web reporting:- people can access a computer easily and report to the departments or give anonymous tips.
