Please explain the pollution prevention process intensification?
Everyday the world is run by chains of processes be it physical or chemical. All of them might not be energy efficient or positive for the environment. So to have sustainable development, process intensification plays an important role in the bio- chemical industry. Through process intensification several accidents can also be prevented if we can prepare a design or prototype which has an efficient safety valve. As the chemical or nuclear industry involves the use of many radioactive and hazardous substances, Through PI, the inventory and dangers of process failure can be mitigated. But there also arises conflicting situations where the use of higher amount of heat energy for the sake of safety may conflict with the process itself.
It involves the uniform supply of energy to each molecule.Alongside, the time allowed such that the specific surface area is maximised. It leads to zero waste with the optimal use of inventory.The process flexibility is improved leaving behind lesser footprints to deal with.The control over the process is enhanced .
Here the problem is identified and defined. then efficient PI solutions for individual problems are identified. The objective function is then minimised by means of experiment which leads the way for a feasible optimal solution
