Hospitals contain large amount of microorganisms, which can be pathogenic, so each and every equipment must be sterilized, to prevent the infection. Textiles must be properly sterilized, which protect the patients causing various infection. Certain chemicals, high temperature can be used to sterilize hospital textiles. Heat can kill microorgaisms, soaking the textiles in hot water, machine washing, use os bleach while cleaning, rewashing will destroy maximun number of microorganisms. Water having high temperature, 80 degree celcius and above are used for washing. Dry heat are also used in setrilization, which result in microbial death.

ASTM supported the helped the health sectors in various ways like, it helped in development of several drugs, it also helps in the medical research, it provided new ideas for treating various diseases, regenerating human tissues, which improved the quality of treatment. It introduced varoius healthcare products and also introduced new way of treating diseases like cancer.
