Food insecurity is consistent lack of adequate food and nutrients needed for the day-to-day activities. According to 2018 records 1 out of every 9 individual in U.S face food insecurity. Food insecurity means the lack of financial resources to have adequate food at the hosehold level. When there is inadequate food supply it can be further exaggerated  by the fear of insufficient food which forces the families to make dietary changes to make the food last longer. Low income families, Black hoseholds, single mother families , families living in rural areas are more prone to food insecurity. Adults experience more food insecurity than children because the parents provides and protect their children from experiencing the same. Food insecurity  is related to a wide rage of negative outcomes and nutritional defects. Various programmes are conducted by different states to overcome the food insecurity faced by the people,  SNAP supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Supplemental nutrition assistance program ,Food insecurety nutrotion incentive Grant program are some of them.
