Expert Solution

Unconscious bias is rife in workplace where our background , previous experiences , cultural context and social stereotypes indirectly impact our decision making without realisation.

It impact health care provision as unconscious bias can lead to under- treatment of pain , cardiovascular diseases may be influenced by racial bias and ethinicity ,it can further cause negative interaction with patients and poor therapeutic relationship with patients and thus affect health improvement of patient and unability to build trust leading to future fear in patients for treatment and insecurities. Unconscious bias can lead to preference to the person who is familiar to health care provider , belongs to same culture , see similarity also attraction by body image or repulsion can affect quality of care of patient .Thus unconscious bias should be eliminated as it can affect quality care of patients and also therapeutic relationship with patients so should be avoided by learning to avoid it
