Hello, my name is Jacob and today I am going to talk to you about something that happened to me last year on my trip to Egypt. Today, while we all are occupied with our own self interest, an act of kindness one random day gave me a moment that I shall cherish forever.

The incident happened while I was exiting the terminal to find the representative from the hotel who was supposed to be waiting for me. Then, after a few minutes, a man approached me enquiring about the hotel that I had booked. Unable to see through his tricks, I told him the name of the hotel and then he told me that the hotel had shut down as it was undergoing renovation.

As my phone was not connected to the local network, I was unable to confirm this news with the hotel and quite naively fell into his trap. The man proposed to take me to a good hotel at the best price and that too in his own taxi for the sum of 25,000 Egyptian Pounds.

Now, as I was about to go along with this man, an old man right beside me (who overheard our conversation) pulled me aside and told me that I was surely being scammed and he had seen the representative of my hotel around the terminal.

He then offered me his phone to call the hotel. I called the hotel and got to know that it was open and there were no renovation works going on. The scammer realized that his tricks would not work and ran away. Eventually, I was able to meet the representative from the hotel with the help of this old man. I thanked him for his help and even offered him a cup of coffee, to which he politely refused and said- "it is our duty as humans to help fellow humans".

These simple but meaningful words stayed in mind and had a great impact on me. This was a good event in my life because the old man helped me save my money and made me realize that even in today's fast paced world, someone came forward to help me. I would urge you all as well to take time to help those in need because trust me, they'll be grateful, just like I was!
